An all-new Mixy

‘Re-brand as much as you need to!’ I live by this and every year I’m a testament to following my own advice. 2023 was a year of reflection in various ways but most importantly it was an eye-opener from a business standpoint. Back in February, I found myself stagnant and I lacked motivation of how I would elevate my brand because I felt as if I started to blend in.

Everyone thinks that I have it all figured out or that everything is perfect and the reality is, it’s the complete opposite. I to have days where I’m depressed or don’t feel like I’m enough but I had to shake that feeling and figure how to come out of that dark place.

In March 2023 I had 2 events, April 4 events, May 3 events, June 3 events, July 5 events, August 8 events, September 9 events, October 9 events, November 5 events, and December 10 events. To me, this was very devastating and traumatic because I don’t have a 9 to 5, Mixy Chix is my bread and butter. So to have a total of 16 events throughout the summer was depressing to say the least. Aside from the current economic status I knew why my bookings were low. I was providing a service that everyone else in Atlanta was but there was no longer nothing that set me apart. I had the same LED portable bars that everyone else had, the style of cups I used became easily accessible via Amazon, so although I still produced a quality service and aesthetic, I was charging $1000+ more than what my competitors were so it no longer was about quality, it was about COST! This is when I rebranded in the spring because a new look that wasn’t easy to mimic is what I had to create. I sold all my bars, I revamped my website, I invested in a professional photographer and I changed my look. Content/Reels used to be my thing, but I found that professional images could take you places further than what standard video content could.

I really hopped in my creative bag and started to bring an entire new meaning to ‘Mobile Bartending’. Now although I wasn’t booked every weekend like I was use to, all my bookings were quality bookings, meaning great budgets and the freedom to be creative. This is when I knew I had to go all out even if it meant sacrificing some of my profit. I started providing my clients with moodboards, connecting with fabricators to build custom bar rentals, and finally started to attract the planners that I’ve dreamed of working with.

You can buy equipment, tools, and even knowledge but what you can’t buy is creativity and THAT is what SETS ME APART! The ability to turn an idea into an experience within the bar element is a gift that I’m truly thankful for.

As I neared the end of 2023, a new fire was lit under me and I knew that I no longer wanted to be boxed into being a ‘Mobile Bar’ company. I’m always a part of amazing events but I want to also be able to curate my own events, I want to acquire sponsorships with brands that I adore and utilize on a daily. I want to be the person who makes the Mobile Bar industry be respected and by doing so, that means an all-new Mixy would have to be born.
